Sedation Dentistry

The fear of the dentist has kept many from darkening the door of the dentist. If you find yourself suffering from those same fears, sedation dentistry is here to help. Sedation dentistry helps you feel relaxed and at ease through any dental visit – allowing you to get the dental treatment you need, even if it’s just a basic check-up. We understand the fear of the dentist can be very relevant and we want to help you keep up on your smile without dreading the anxiety that comes along with it! We have 3 different forms of sedation to help you through your dental visits and procedures.

Nitrous Oxide

This is our mildest form of sedation and is commonly known as laughing gas. Nitrous oxide is given through a face mask and helps you feel calm and relaxed. You will not be bothered by surrounding sounds or smells, but you will be able to respond to the dentist throughout your appointment. The effects wear off minutes after the mask is removed, allowing you to return to normal activities right after your appointment. This sedation is safe for adults and children.

Oral Sedation

This sedation is administered in pill form. It starts working within minutes and is stronger than the nitrous oxide. Oral sedation takes longer to wear off and a friend or family member will need to be present to take you home following your appointment.
